THE CURRENT SITUATION - NOVEMBER 2021 UPDATE

Honestly, I didn`t think I would have to do one of these announcements again but unfortunately Japan Post has announced the immediate suspension from today, 2nd November 2021 of the acceptance and delivery of small packet (parcel) mail to AUSTRALIA and AMERICA. Effectively meaning Marker Eki cannot fulfil standard orders to these regions.
The reason for the suspension is due to the recent unreliability and excessive delays of the postal carriers Aus Post and USPS in Australia and the USA respectively. All orders from October were shipped promptly and after speaking with Japan Post they should have left Japan already. If any orders are returned I will contact you directly.
Despite this Marker Eki can still ship orders to AUSTRALIA by courier with 2kg costing $45 and orders up to 5kg costing $70, expected delivery is within 7-21 days.

Update - August 2020
AIRMAIL SHIPPING HAS RESUMED to the following countries Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Belarus, Malta, Armenia, Kosovo, Vatican, Montenegro, San Marino, Turkey, Liechtenstein, China, Indonesia, Greenland, Serbia and Tunisia. There have been no other changes to resumption or suspension of shipping to countries previously mentioned. Customers from these countries are able to order as normal but expected delivery is expected to be within 7-21 days.
AUSTRALIA - Orders are still being shipped by courier with 2kg costing $45 and orders up to 5kg cost $70, expected delivery is within 7-21 days.

AUSTRALIA - All bulk orders shipped to Australia have been delivered and I am considering doing another run as shipping is still suspended. Orders are still being shipped by courier with 2kg costing $45 and orders up to 5kg cost $70, expected delivery is within 7-21 days.

UPDATE - MAY 2020
The first lot of bulk has been shipped today, 8 May 2020 and is expected to arrive in Australia within two weeks for onwards shipping by Australia Post. Thanks for everyone`s support during this time!
Unfortunately this method is not sustainable for the foreseeable future so it has been decided that Marker Eki will ship all orders no matter what size from (0-2kg) by courier at a fixed rate of $45. This is ideal for wholesale or bulk orders as the shipping price is the same as the standard shipping rate set by Japan Post and good value for money. 2kg is approximately 50 markers and around $200 in value with expected delivery between 7-14 days and direct to your door.
Marker Eki apologises that small orders cannot be accepted and looks forward to supplying you quality Japanese markers in the near future. It is still currently unknown when shipping will recommence by Japan Post but it is rumored to be July 2020.

UPDATE - MAY 2020 - SHIPPING RESUMES!
As of 1 May 2020 Marker Eki will recommence shipping orders to AUSTRALIA ONLY! The Japan Post mail suspension remains in effect however a workaround has been put in place.
All orders will ship from Tokyo, Japan in bulk to Perth, Australia by courier and will then will be shipped by Australia Post on the final leg to you. The shipping cost at check out covers ALL postage, handling costs and tracking for shipping within Australia.
It is expected that orders will be delivered within the same time frame as Standard Economy Shipping (SAL) 21-30 days from the date of shipping from Tokyo. Courier shipping to Australia is expected to take 7-14 days and then onward shipping by Australia Post is expected to take 5-14 days depending on location and any potential delays at local sorting centres.
Orders will be held in Tokyo, Japan for up to 2 weeks or until the weight threshold requirements for shipping by Courier are met (5kg), which on average is around 5-10 orders. In the (unlikely) event that the threshold should not be met, I will either cover the remaining shipping costs or issue a full refunds.
All current `ON HOLD` orders will be shipped next week, Thursday 7 May 2020 by this method. There is still limited space for a few orders.
Shipping by this method is more expensive than normal/direct shipping however the price is still reasonable and comparable to Airmail shipping from Tokyo, Japan.

On 23 May 2020 Japan Post updated the announcement and suspended all mail services to the U.S.A. Marker Eki is not shipping to any countries other than AUSTRALIA. It is unknown when normal shipping will recommence but it has been rumored to be suspended until JULY 2020.

10 APRIL 2020
As of Thursday, 10 April 2020 Japan Post has suspended EMS, AIRMAIL and STANDARD ECONOMY AIRMAIL services to 126 countries including AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND.
Japan Post is still shipping to UNITED STATES, CANADA and the UNITED KINGDOM however I have made the decision to stop shipping to ALL COUNTRIES as there are currently delays and shipping services may be suspended at any time.
Customers who have placed an order recently (April) have been contacted. If you placed an order in March and it has still not arrived, sit tight as Japan Post advised there have been some delays with orders taking up to 30+days for delivery.
It is unknown when shipping will recommence and an update will be provided when possible. In the mean time check the Marker Eki blog for all things marker related.
